Job Title: Pennie Assister
Location: Hybrid, 75% in office at 2411 Front Street, Harrisburg, PA 17110

About the Role:
The Pennie Assister plays a key role in helping Pennsylvania residents navigate health insurance enrollment through Pennie, the state’s health insurance marketplace. This position combines administrative support with community engagement, ensuring that individuals and families receive guidance, assistance, and timely services during the enrollment process.

Responsibilities and Impact:
As a Pennie Assister, you will:

  • Provide administrative, enrollment, and customer assistance related to health insurance and Pennie Marketplace programs.
  • Educate individuals about available healthcare coverage options, eligibility, and enrollment procedures.
  • Support outreach and community initiatives, including local events that promote healthcare access and awareness.
  • Schedule and coordinate appointments, meetings, and outreach activities.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, enrollment records, and communication logs.
  • Prepare correspondence, reports, and meeting summaries as needed.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks to verify information accuracy before submission.
  • Track and update workflow in systems such as Smartsheet and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Perform general office coordination, supply management, and project organization tasks.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with internal teams, clients, and community partners.
These responsibilities are not exhaustive; additional tasks may be assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 1-2 years of administrative experience, customer service, or community outreach experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines independently.
  • Comfortable learning new systems and performing internet-based research.

Standout Qualifications:
  • Experience in healthcare administration, patient services, or insurance enrollment.
  • Familiarity with Pennie, Medicaid, or other public health programs.
  • Knowledge of state/government processes (Commonwealth of Pennsylvania experience a plus).
  • Demonstrated community engagement experience through outreach, education, or public service.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of sitting while using a computer.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly over video meetings, phone, and email.
  • Home workspace with reliable internet access required.

Pay Range:
$16/hr. - $25/hr., based on experience.
